Call for Student Papers - Transport Chicago 2012

Transport Chicago welcomes students to submit an abstract for consideration in the 2012 Annual Conference in Chicago. Each June, Transport Chicago brings transportation and planning professionals, practitioners, researchers, academics and students together to discuss timely research, best practices and innovations in the transportation field and to explore current issues in transportation planning and policy. The 2012 Transport Chicago conference presents an excellent opportunity to hear nationally recognized and local transportation experts, discover current industry practices, and meet and share ideas with colleagues in the field. Transport Chicago seeks papers concerning all aspects of transportation including planning, public transit, freight, air, rail, bicycle and pedestrian transportation. Student papers are encouraged and will be eligible for a $500 prize on the day of the conference.
Topics at previous conferences include:

• Transit Oriented Development
• Freight Transportation Corridors and Policy
• Public Transit Service Planning
• Transit Market Analysis
• Congestion and Parking Pricing
• Highway Performance Measurement

• Transportation Management
• Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)
• Corridor Planning

Student papers chosen for presentation must be submitted by May 18, 2012, and will be published on Transport Chicago’s website.  Paper presentation will occur in one of two separate forums: oral presentation before an audience or display during the poster session.  While the committee requests that each author indicate a preference, the committee retains final decision-making authority on forum assignment.

Abstracts will be reviewed anonymously by the Transport Chicago Steering Committee. A 250-word abstract must be submitted in the following format by Friday, March 2, 2012:

Page 1: -Paper title
