Transport Chicago 2026

Call for POSTERS

Transport Chicago invites professionals and practitioners, researchers and academics, and activists and organizers to submit a poster proposal for the annual Transport Chicago Conference on Friday, June 12, 2026 at voco Chicago Downtown. The one-day conference will feature a full day of programming on broad spectrum of transportation topics, and we'd love to include your voice.

We are now taking proposals for posters on all things transportation and related topics. Posters will be featured during a dedicated early afternoon session and during the post-conference happy hour. While topic is not required to be local to Chicago (as there is much to be learned from other places), there should be a clear relevance to Chicago area transportation.

Proposals should contain the following components:

  • Topic/Problem Statement

  • Methods/Project Approach

  • Findings and Conclusions, focusing on lessons learned

Proposals will be reviewed based on:

  • Quality: Is the proposal well written and does it seem like it will offer compelling insights for attendees?

  • Interest: Does the presentation provide attendees a new perspective or deeper knowledge on a noteworthy topic?

  • Relevance: Is the topic timely and regionally relevant?

You are only required to submit an abstract at this stage; if selected, you will be expected to design a poster based on your proposal and attend the conference during the poster session to staff your poster. The TC team will work with you to ensure a successful effort.

Please use this form to submit your proposal by 11:59pm CT on Thursday, April 30. The TC team will be in touch once the Steering Committee has reviewed all submissions and made selections. If you have any questions, check out the FAQ section below or reach out to vicepresident@transportchicago.org.

FAQs

Does my proposal have to be about the Chicago Region?

1

We recognize that excellent work is being done all over the country that we can learn from here in Chicagoland, so we welcome proposals from across the country (and beyond). However, we will prioritize proposals that have an explicit application to the Chicago area.

Does my poster need to be designed for initial submission?

2

No; if selected, we will ask you to submit your design close to the conference day.

Will I be required to attend the conference?

3

We ask that all selected Poster presenters attend the conference, at least during the poster session.

I have more questions - who should I contact?

5

Reach out to vicepresident@transportchicago.org with any additional questions.

When will my Poster be displayed?

4

Posters will be displayed during the entirety of the conference. We ask that you staff your board during the afternoon poster sessions for approximately 1 hour. We also recommend staffing it during the happy hour, which is a great opportunity to interface with conference attendees.
