Freight and Transit, Sustainability and Mobility Among Topics Addressed During 2025 Transport Chicago Conference June 13

Locked in as Keynote Speakers at 40th Annual Event
CHICAGO (May 2025) – Presentations that address the future of freight and public transit across metropolitan Chicago, the impact of electrification on transportation, and initiatives to improve options for safer walking and cycling are among the topics that will be addressed at the 40th Annual Transport Chicago conference June 13.
This popular annual education and networking event is managed by volunteer members of the Chicago transportation industry. Other sessions and panel discussions focus on the future of O’Hare International Airport, fiscal challenges facing public transit, curb space allocation issues, and planning bus service during special events.
To kick off the event, Luann Hamilton, formerly of the Chicago Department of Transportation and its predecessor the Department of Public Works, will deliver the morning keynote presentation during breakfast. During the noon lunch, participants will hear from Jerome A. Horne, Deputy Director of Communications for the Baltimore Red Line at the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration.
Now in its 40th year, Transport Chicago brings together hundreds of transportation industry professionals and members of the academic community to share and explore a wide range of research and study. In addition to the keynote presentations and sessions, participants can take part in an interactive poster session and visit and more than 20 sponsor booths.
"Transport Chicago has been bringing together the city's transportation community since 1985, creating space for us to share ideas and innovations across our diverse industry," said Lucy Chen, 2025 Transport Chicago President. "This year's program really delivers with sessions tackling the most pressing challenges in transportation planning and management. We've also added three pre-conference events to complement the main conference on June 13. I'm excited for everyone to experience the full lineup."
Transport Chicago 2025 will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The voco Chicago Downtown Hotel, 350 W. Wolf Point Plaza, Chicago. Registration is open to all interested parties and includes admission, a continental breakfast, lunch and concluding reception.
